When I was in Toronto trying on bridesmaid dresses for my friend's wedding, I saw this pretty lady trying on her dress and she looked beautiful. I somehow worked up the courage to hand her my card... guess what? The next day she booked me!

I met Amy and Kerri a year or so ago when they came to the studio for their Newborn photography with little Meila, we kept in touch and I asked Amy and Kerri to be part of my photographic vision.
Unfortunately, in Australia despite the majority of its people supporting "Gay Marriage" (65% according to Fairfax media) Same-sex couples are prevented from marrying by the definition of marriage contained within the federal Marriage Act. As a photographer I felt it was necessary to show my support by contributing to the vision that would normalise same sex relationships by seeing it on a regular basis reflecting it as genuine successful healthy relationships like any other. Now, I could rave on about marriage equality but I'd prefer to talk more about this beautiful photo session. Kerri gave birth to Meila with her partner Amy and isn't she the cutest little thing? I was so excited to hear that possibly sometime in the future Amy was going to birth their second child. Can you imagine sharing such an experience with your partner (a little jealous over here) I searched through local dressmakers to find these gorgeous Dresses by Full circle vintage and somehow they fit perfectly. Their make up and hair was done by Black diamond artistry who even joined us for the shoot to help out! Flower crowns and flower bouquets were donated by the wonderful Cheryl at Rosehip Flowers (she's my favourite flower person ever) The session was held at Lindeman's in the hunter valley and what a perfect afternoon it was. The sun beamed over the mountains to fall lightly on these two love birds and added perfect warmth to these images. Thank you to everyone that contributed to this collaboration. |
