I was very fortunate to capture these precious moments of Alexandra and her family when she was only a couple of weeks old. Her Mum has agreed to let me share these gorgeous images with you. This is generally what the final product looks like for a newborn session with Bella Rouge Photography.
The night before I spend about 1-2 hours setting up drops and props for the session. Depending on if it's a boy or girl and also on the conversations I have had with the parents as to what props they like and what colours will go with their home. I have a very extensive amount of props in my studio to use on the day so you don't need to bring a thing. I like to start with sibling photos while the siblings are still a bit shy. I also do family photos at the start if the family already has children and photos of each parent with their new baby. I can do breast feeding photos too, you just have to ask me. Then I like to move into the newborn posing. Usually this is a great time for Mum to relax and watch her new baby rest beautifully in my many props and Dad takes the kids across to the park or out for lunch (sometimes Nan comes and pick up the big kids for a few hours too) I have the heater blowing before you arrive and soft music playing as well as the sleep miracle - The baby shusher (I will show you when you come!! shhhh! shhhh!) I usually do about 4-5 set ups depending on the baby, one on a rug, two in props and one of my beanbag (below) as well as Macro photography of all the baby's little features. It's really warm in my studio so I like to recommend parents dress in layers particularly in summer. My style is usually neutral with a bit of colour. I like dainty tie backs and soft bonnets. If baby is still sleepy at the end I like to get a black and white photo of Mum and/or Dad's hands holding baby. So this is the final product after editing and a little brief on how a session usually goes. I spend about 5 hours editing each session and then order your prints and pick them up and package them up. I have gift surprises in my new packaging I am SO excited in giving out. Your digital images in the bigger packages come on a wooden Bella Rouge Photography USB and in a Wooden box. The digital images come in colour and in black and white. I try to encourage parents to go with the "Bella" and "Platinum" packages so they get enlargements or canvases. Too often with my old packages I ask parents if they got their newborn photos printed out and they say they haven't had the chance. So let me do it all for you! All my prints and canvases are printed in fine quality local labs that my editing is calibrated to suit for printing perfection. I keep all edited images on a series of hard drives for your safe keeping. No matter what happens I aim to always have a copy of your photos here for you. Enjoy x
